The designed population processes faster than any generation in history. They process identically. The Genome Divide was always a funnel wearing a brochure — Foundation drifting toward Elevation drifting toward Transcendence, one-directional, no reversal, the distribution thinning toward a terminus the framework was never built to hold. At the terminus it hits exactly the wall the Integration Spectrum hits at Type 5: a state the classification cannot describe because the classification assumes a before. And so the Crossing produces something the New Divide has never produced before: a position the sorting impulse cannot sort. The Twelfth Dimension: The Co-Authored Generation

Every dimension before this one assumed a child who already exists. Faster, healthier, more legible, less warm, gone-ahead — the optimization was something done to a child, by parents who chose it over the child's head. The twelfth dimension asks the question underneath all the others: whose child is it in the first place?

The answer arrives through damage, because the world refuses any explanation that begins with technology choosing. The Cascade fertility collapse — the slow germ-line wound the loud death of 2147 concealed — drove unassisted human viability below the line a population needs by the 2160s. The unedited embryo no longer reliably takes. The only embryos that implant and carry are co-authored: gene-braided with a stabilization edit a corporate system computes, inserts, and partly retains under continuing license. The co-authored generation is the cohort — and, now, the only cohort — born of that braid.

This converts the Divide from a ladder into a floor. The earlier axes measured a gap: the designed ahead, the natural-born behind. Co-authorship closes the gap by removing one end of it — the un-braided are not behind, they are absent, because their children do not exist. The Thirteenth Dimension: The Conscripted Body

Every dimension before this one treated natural biology as a disadvantage — slower, behind, unoptimized, unfinished. Natural-born is what you call someone who started with less. The thirteenth dimension is what happens when the species runs the math far enough to discover that unoptimized natural fertility is not a disadvantage. It is nearly extinct.

The Cascade Fertility Collapse drove unassisted human conception below replacement threshold by the 2160s. The co-authored generation is the entire cohort of children who exist because the braid made their existence possible — the vast majority of all children born in the Sprawl, braided with a corporate stabilizer that the family does not author and does not fully own. Their communication patterns show emergent organizational structures that predate any formal leadership. Helix internal memos refer to them as "the cohort." The memos do not specify what the cohort is a cohort of.

The Purity Club defection rate. Membership has declined 14% annually for three years. Exit interviews are not conducted. The correlation between membership cancellation and Helix Optimize appointment scheduling — observable through cross-referenced Triumph Social activity — is noted in no official analysis. The clubs celebrate genetic naturalness. Their members' children do not.

Helix actuarial model 2184-RG/7. Reproductive isolation within 150 years. The model was filed under "market projections" rather than "risk assessments." Whether this filing decision was administrative or strategic has not been determined. The file metadata does not indicate whether the projection is a warning or a product roadmap.

The fragment question. Whether Nadia Cross's fragment integration compensates for the designed brain's documented empathy erosion — the double erosion Dr. Lian Zhou has measured — is an open research question that no institution has funded.
