The marketing language is "Wholesome at every table — the family meal for every district." The cabinet on the corner is barn-red and cream painted with the seven-pointed Wholesome freshness seal stamped on the front, the cursive 'Wholesome Basic' wordmark above the dispense window, lantern-amber interior glow lighting the kraft-paper-banded ration pouches stacked inside. The brand calls this "the family meal at every district." The Dregs resident calls it "Wholesome" — not the meal, the brand.

When food has no variation, it has no memory. Nobody reminisces about Tuesday paste differently from Wednesday paste. The only variable Wholesome tracks is which ledger the pouch is booked against: revenue on the Flats, community stability on the Floor.
