The certificate names one component of the asset's self-repair set by part number and strikes it through.

Exactly one person is entered against the omission. The wage comes from the district provision line; the part would have come from capital.

The certificate hangs framed at eye height at the holder's station, with the struck part number legible and the relief route printed on it.

Relieve or retire
A holder may request a second name at any time. Entering one voids the commission, returns the asset to the automation schedule, and ends the post.

Ironclad Industries cleared it in one line. "Human judgement is a load-bearing component. Specify it like one." The Organic Deployment Threshold runs the same sum on contractors.
In 2172 it spread to the neutral utilities of the Treaty of Shared Infrastructure. By 2184 there were 1,904 commissions. Of those, 260 keep the Breath moving.

Two hundred and sixty commissions sit on atmospheric plant, where the reserve is the only clock the arithmetic has to beat.
