The MLM Mentor
This isn't a pyramid. It's a triangle of opportunity.
She doesn't fight you โ she recruits against you. The downline compounds every turn. Collapse the pyramid before it compounds past survivable, and watch the scheme eat itself.
A Triangle Of Opportunity
Predatory-finance boss: the multi-level-marketing "mentor" who sells an opportunity that is mathematically a debt trap with a vision board.
The MLM Mentor does not really fight you โ she recruits against you. Every turn the downline grows: recruits buff recruits, recruits buff her, and the whole pastel pyramid compounds toward a number you cannot survive. She is warm, she believes, she has a starter kit with your name on it. Collapse the downline before it compounds, and watch the scheme eat itself on the way down.
The People At The Bottom Pay For The Dream
Multi-level marketing dresses a debt-funded pyramid as empowerment; the people at the bottom pay for the dream the people at the top are selling.
Auntie Apex sells a door. She is certain the door is real, because she walked through one herself โ or believes she did โ and now she stands at the front of a rented hotel conference room with a laser pointer and an easel, offering the same door to a dozen tired people who came because she saved them a chair.
The Downline
The Mentor builds a pyramid of Downline Recruits. Each turn the downline Compounds: every recruit grants the Mentor (and recruits above it) escalating Amp/Firewall. Killing a recruit breaks the chain above it and deals Collapse backlash to the Mentor.
The Mentor builds a pyramid of Downline Recruits. Each turn the downline Compounds: every recruit grants the Mentor (and recruits above it) escalating Amp/Firewall.
Collapsing recruits from the bottom is a reliable way to flatten the threat. Each recruit killed backlashes onto the Mentor, rewarding board clearing. Cash Out / wash-out resets the board, keeping the fight recoverable.
The number of living recruits and the per-turn Compound effect are visible before the player acts. Residual Income and It's Not A Pyramid clearly scale with recruit count. Cash Out The Downline's scaling is telegraphed.
The Comp Plan
Named moves pulled from the boss spec. Exact tuning remains pre-implementation until the encounter is playable.
Opportunity Pitch
Summon“I'm not selling anything. I'm offering you a door.”
Grow the downline.
Starter Kit
Debuff“The kit's just to get you started. You'll make it back. Easily.”
Saddle the player with "starter debt."
Boss Up
Buff“I fired my boss. Now I AM the boss. Of this triangle.”
Manual compounding push.
Residual Income
Attack“This money comes in while I sleep. While YOU sleep, even.”
Downline-scaled jab.
It's Not A Pyramid
Defend“It's a triangle of opportunity. Totally different shape.”
Distributed defense.
Recruitment Drive
Summon“Bring three friends. They bring three friends. The math is beautiful.”
Phase 2 acceleration.
Cash Out The Downline
Attack“Sorry, ladies โ restructuring. It's just business.”
The finisher that spends the pyramid.
Restructuring
Decide each turn whether to spend tempo collapsing the downline or to outrace it.
Recruits, pitches, and lets the downline compound while jabbing with Residual Income. Warm and relentless; the board grows. Pleasant pressure that quietly becomes an exponential problem.
“Okay, real talk โ the company's pivoting. We're all going to be fine. Mostly.”
Floods recruits via Recruitment Drive and threatens Cash Out The Downline, which spends the whole pyramid in one hit and then washes them out. A compounding spiral the player escapes by collapsing the downline from the bottom and forcing the backlash.
The Good Fortune Opportunity
Strong existing fit. Good Fortune is a tier-2 Rothwell Foundation corporation and an implemented boss faction (Chief Revenue Officer). The MLM Mentor runs a Good Fortune "opportunity" โ a starter-kit downline financed by Rothwell debt and motivated in the Inspire ascension voice. No new faction is required; she is the horizontal, retail expression of the same greed the CRO collects.
Downline Recruit: buffs adjacent recruits and the Mentor while alive.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Sample-Kit Seller: applies a "starter debt" curse to a player card.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Upline Sponsor: heals/shields recruits beneath it.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Diamond Director: a high-tier recruit that compounds the whole downline faster.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Debt-Locked Mentor: a former recruit who cannot leave; mirrors the boss weakly.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Downline Recruit: the compounding pyramid pieces.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
The Opportunity Meeting: special encounter where refusing the pitch each turn is the win condition.
A supporting encounter from the same social machine.
Things She Will Definitely Say
Pull lines from combat barks and the boss-page contract.
What The Fight Must Prove
