Guardian Arms' Dead-Hand-Rule certification is issued by Guardian's own Compliance Program. The Compliance Program's oversight board has three seats. Two are held by Guardian employees. The third is held by a firm that audits Guardian's own financial disclosures.

The 0.91 correlation figure in the Collective's study was produced from publicly available Guardian logistics data. Guardian's PR division called the methodology flawed. Guardian has not published the methodology it considers valid. The logistics data is still public.
