The Keeper
I saw this five moves ago.
You are Gabriel Okafor: uploaded cyber-monk, empty robes and sacred gold geometry, alone at Mystery Court with Kaiser and a sealed letter from The Architect. You do not scramble for tempo. You read the future, commit to it, and let enemies discover that the answer was waiting.
Most operatives ask what you can do right now. The Keeper asks a harder question: what will matter two, three, or five turns from now?
Forecasts show the enemy line. Study clarifies uncertainty by making you vulnerable in the present. Prepared Lines lock cards into future turns. When the queued card resolves, victory feels like chess-by-prophecy: the opponent made the move you already answered.
Prepared Lines
The first card you play prepares for next turn, the second for two turns out, and so on. Future cards are immutable. Same-turn future resolutions fire first-queued first.
The forecast was right. The prepared card appears as Keeper's future play, resolves with delayed payoff, and can reduce Exposed pressure.
The enemy did not match the read. The line misses, Exposed pressure rises, and you must recover by studying and planning better.
Six routes to checkmate
Every Keeper build uses forecast and scheduling, but each lane rewards a different kind of patience.
Checkmate Lines
A delayed trap resolves first, then the prepared punish closes the fight.
Inevitability
Correct prophecies reduce Exposed pressure and compound into control.
Five-Move Gambit
A low-confidence read lands with the biggest sacred-geometry release.
Witness Control
Study precisely, queue cleanly, then leave Witness only for the payoff.
Guarded Prophecy
Firewall and mitigation resolve exactly when the enemy swing appears.
Kaiser Preservation
The uploaded cat and monastery chrome buy the turn prophecy needs.
Strike, Guard, Witness
Postures are not martial poses. They are ritual commitments that change what kind of future line matters.
Strike
Amplifies delayed attacks and checkmate turns. You see less, but judgment hits harder.
Guard
Amplifies prepared defense and counters. Sanctuary arrives on the turn danger was forecast.
Witness
Shows the full five-turn forecast. The safest place to study, infer, and schedule the next line.
Gabriel Okafor, still keeping watch
Thirty-seven years digital. Empty brown and burgundy robes. A crystal emitter. Kaiser, the uploaded cat. A sealed letter from The Architect. The Keeper preserves thresholds because some futures should not be crossed unprepared.
Readable prophecy, not hidden state
The in-game surface keeps forecasts above enemies and the prepared queue adjacent to Keeper, using card thumbnails rather than abstract counters.
Skill Tree
Specialize across runs into deeper forecasts, stronger prepared payoffs, safer recovery, or Kaiser-backed preservation.
Card Database
Every Keeper card, rendered through the same catalog frame as the game so wording and art stay honest.
Study the line. Prepare the answer. Let the future arrive.
