Eden

Overview
Eden occupies a shielded junction room below the Undervolt's Crossroads. Its walls frustrate tracking, the drinks are cheap, and the booths are deep enough for a netrunner to sit with their back protected. People come here to disconnect without having to explain what they were connected to.
The name promises more than the room does. Eden has patched cables, mismatched tables, and a floor that carries the Grid's hum through every shoe. What it offers is smaller and more useful: a few hours in which nobody builds a profile from what you drink, who you meet, or which track makes you look up.
NecroSynthetik is the resident DJ and the person who keeps the room open. He chooses the music for whoever arrived, not for the audience a system predicts. Regulars protect the booth rule, settle tabs before he asks, and leave other people's business at the door.
The legal owner rarely visits. The margin still leaves Eden each week. When the east-wall signal baffle failed during a set, Necro cut the music, cleared the exposed booths, and paid a Grid tech from an envelope marked BUYOUT. Eden reopened the next night. The number on the envelope went backward.
No sign marks the route from the Crossroads. Regulars describe turns by cable color and transformer pitch, instructions that are useful only to someone already inside the Undervolt. A first visit usually requires a guide. A return visit does not. After the repaired set, they left a replacement baffle and a sealed installation quote beside the mixer. Necro has not opened it.

Conditions Report
The air smells of ozone, warm cable insulation, and the citrus solvent used on the tables. Cyan booth light meets the Undervolt's violet signal strips. Bass travels through the metal floor more cleanly than sound travels through the room, while transformer heat holds the bar at an unchanging 28ยฐC.
Affiliated Entities
- NecroSynthetik: At closing, he locks the BUYOUT envelope beneath the mixer and records each repair on its paper sleeve.
- The Undervolt: Its power keeps Eden hidden and occasionally gives the bar a new reason to spend the envelope.
Eden keeps tabs in a paper book under aliases chosen at the door; settled pages are pulped instead of archived.
A black tape line marks the booth's no-drinks boundary, and regulars move unattended glasses before NecroSynthetik has to ask.
