Date: 2026-02-15
Seed: Corporate Middle Management (★34)
Controversy target: The Labor Question (#6) — primary. Secondary: The Corporate Compact (#26), The Dependency Spiral (#27)

Emotional tone: Suffocating
Vision
What does complicity look like from the inside — and at what point does “just doing my job” become the most dangerous sentence in any language?
This weave builds the middle layer of the Sprawl’s corporate ecosystem: not the CEOs or the rebels, but the compliance officers, the workforce optimizers, the shift supervisors, the debt architects, and the gardeners who tend the space where minds are diminished. Every character knows something they don’t act on. Every system distributes guilt so thoroughly that no individual bears enough to feel crushed.

Enrichment from Materialization Feedback
No entities flagged as thin. Four Silicon Liturgy entities remain for future materialization (Garden of Signals, Listening Posts, Digital Sacraments, Ordination Question) — not in scope for this weave.
Key Connections
- The Deprecation ↔ The Golden Handcuffs: Same system, different phases — one binds, one releases
- The Competence Trap ↔ The Complicity Gradient: The trap moves competent people deeper into complicity
- Lena Marchetti ↔ Felix Otieno: Two people sharing the Sunset Ward — one facilitates deprecation, the other was deprecated. They notice each other’s presence
- Jun-seo Park ↔ Felix Otieno: She deprecated him. They’ve never met. She walks past the Ward where he waters plants
- The Performance Temple ↔ Parish Prime: Designed by the same architects. Productivity worship and ORACLE worship share structural DNA
- The Loyalty Coefficient ↔ BehaviorExchange: Same prediction technology — one manages employees internally, the other manages populations externally
- Dr. Priya Achebe ↔ The Collective: Her 147 objections are the most valuable intelligence resource the Collective accesses without knowing the author
- Thomas Okafor ↔ The System: Born inside the cage, Loyalty Coefficient 88, drawing a map of walls he’s never seen from outside
Open Threads
- The Otieno Report researcher — “F. Otieno” documented the competence trap and disappeared. Are they related to Felix?
- Tomoko Osei’s dormant capability — corporate-grade neural enhancement in a Lamplighter context. If crisis hits, she may be the only person who can bridge both worlds
- Thomas Okafor’s notebook — the map he’s drawing could become a blueprint for institutional change or a diagnostic document of institutional capture. His 15-month contract timeline creates narrative pressure
- Achebe’s statistical appendix — the workforce projection in objection #89 predicts 40% deprecation within fifteen years. If discovered, it becomes the most devastating document in Nexus’s archives
- Felix’s plants — the same pre-Cascade cultivars as the Garden of Signals. If the connection is discovered, it reveals that therapeutic environments and sacred spaces share botanical DNA
