Overview

Wildcat is the beer for the working customer who has had enough. The frontman, Trace Mallory, is on every can — leathered, scarred, snarling at the camera with a tallboy in his fist — and his quarterly manifestos appear on the side panel: stick it to the suits, drink what they don't want you drinking, the corporations don't speak for us. The cinematography is shot in real dive bars, except it isn't; the bars are soundstages on an Ironclad-owned facility outside the Sprawl's southern industrial belt. Trace Mallory is generated. He has never opened a can in his life. He is, in Ironclad's internal documentation, a managed brand asset on the same roster as a snack-food mascot.

What makes Wildcat work is the closure. Ironclad — the largest corporation on the planet, the owner of the Orbital Elevator, the manufacturer of the suits Wildcat tells you to fight — runs the entire authentic-underground category. The three competitor brands a suspicious Wildcat drinker would switch to in disgust are also Ironclad subsidiaries, marketed by adjacent teams through a separate advocacy nonprofit that publicly criticizes the corporations on each brand's behalf. The "fuck the suits" margin routes, after the usual administrative passes, back to the same shareholder ledger that approves the executive-suite signage on the Orbital Elevator. The rebellion is real. The rebellion is also, line-item, an Ironclad SKU. There is nowhere to defect to that Ironclad does not already own the lease on.

Packaging & Appearance

A battered olive-and-rust tallboy with a snarling wildcat silhouette stamped in faded white across the front and a graffiti-style hand-lettered logo running up the side. The metal is deliberately distressed — faux dents, faux scratches, a faux cigarette burn near the seam — manufactured at scale on Ironclad's specialty packaging line. The pull-tab is heavy and loud; condensation rolls cinematically down the matte finish under any indoor lighting warmer than 3000K. The can is meant to be held at the elbow, in a smoky bar, in a hand whose nails Ironclad's character-design team specifically requested be photographed unmanicured. The empty crushes well. That is on the brief.
